someone could play devil's advocate and say that money does lead to happiness in life, and im talking about "life" problems not materialistic problems for example, if you had a 1 billon dollars lying around and you dream of being a game developer for example, you could afford the absolute best college prep education in the world, have professors personally tutoring you 24/7 , have enough money to pay for top institutions or ivy leagues like harvard and stanford and in turn have a degree that'll get you anywhere with the knowledge that exceeds almost everybody in your field at your age because you have been taught by professors personally 24/7 that means you'll be able to work for your dream company with a dream job with a true career and life purpose, that will also lead to meeting somebody incredible to share your life with because you are a much more developed man with a developed strong life and a career which means you have so much more chances, how's that for "life happiness" ? I'm not making excuses for the poor folk, we can do everything in the world if we work hard enough, true, but that doesn't mean that rich people don't have it much easier if they put in the same work

I am happy you feel this way. Because it is legit the biggest BS I have ever experienced with money. I started as a usual 16 year old making 12k a year because school. Was only making 20k by 20. Now 8 years later I am making 130k+ a year as a plumber union guy. I dont have to worry about eating. I dont have to worry about if any of my hobbies breaks I can replace it and fix it. I dont have to worry about making mortgage etc. I am blessed with not caring about people being around me etc but with me and my dog and no money issues I am happy every day. Not like I spend a bunch of money or anything but I can do what I want when I want. People who make 30k a year can basically ONLY afford a car payment and rent its really depressing.

I am late to this video. I am a janitor for a factory and I am very happy. It has solved alot of my problems. I will be making more money than I ever did, I am happier at work, I don't have anxiety anymore...which is wierd but I am so exhausted from working....anxiety requires energy. I have amazing job satisfaction because the factory produces cardboard and paper inserts for boxes and it makes a mess... I have five days to clean it up. I can do what I consider to be minimal work and the outcome is a huge pile of dust, dirt and paper. I make a huge difference for everyone there. Without me the garbage and recycling bins would overfill, the floors would be dirty, the bathrooms would be gross and out of supplies and the place would be covered in cobwebs. And the last benefit is I do not have to exercise. My job is an 8 hour workout five times a week. 😄 I love my new job. I hated working as a DSP in a group home. Anyone who wants to be miserable and have no job satisfaction should be a DSP.

Money cannot buy Happiness is a myth made by mid class journalists who aren't either poor or rich. Money can buy every 'opportunity' towards happiness. It's of course you who in the end decides and makes choices. Without money, there is no opportunity, you should just struggle and earn the way yourself that might take years and years. Like a typical saying of a miserable lottery winner, in the reality most lottery winners wisely make investment portfolios and live a much better life donating and sharing the gift with all the families.

WAKE ME UP INSIDE
WAKE ME UP INSIDE

My girlfriend and I are in our mid 20's. Over the past couple of years we have made it our mission to increase our monthly income as much as possible and to get out of all consumer debt. We both come from very working-class families: My dad was a plumber in London's east end, and she grew up in the west country pottering around doing God knows what. When we both started our careers in London we took home £34k between us, which if you live or have lived in London you know that's not gonna cut it. I'm now 27, she is 25 and we now have an annual take-home of £112k. We are both insanely happy. We purchased a house on our own, we can go on holiday to pretty much anywhere we want to go, we can afford to treat ourselves every so often and we're able to continue to save plenty of money to increase our wealth. Being poor fucking sucked and I would never want to go back to that again. So as someone that grew up poor, lived in one of the most expensive cities in the world poor and is now doing very OK. This Millionaire can shut the fuck up. If you're unable to improve your life outside of work with $1.2m, you're an unappreciative douche bag. The guy is probably a prick and has no hobbies or interests outside of his financial world. Grind out your job for a few years, save your money then you can go and do something you truly love and not give a shit about how much you're being paid.

I'm incredibly lucky to have found myself in the position I'm in today. I had a lot of mental and physical health issues in my late teens that culminated in me hitting rock bottom. I spent my life savings flying to the other side of the world to work as a model and found myself sick, starving and exploited but I kept appearances up on social media. During those two years I was fortunate to see some amazing places and work with great designers but the time came for me to be a mature student and get into uni to study as a food engineer. Yeah, I'm borrowing tonnes of money from the government and spending every waking hour studying and working but I have my physical and mental health again! My coworkers call me the happiest dishwasher they've ever seen. I'm not partying with celebrities and billionaires anymore or working with luxury designers but I wake up everyday excited and fulfilled. I'm becoming the person I've always dreamed of being - a woman in STEM!! I study and work as hard as I can because one day I will nourish the world, and work on supporting the population with sustainable, accessible and healthy food. Idk, I'm broke but I'm happy as hell and all I can do is help others find that level of self fulfilment that I have.

In the western society we are building a culture where it’s “greedy” or “evil” to admit you’re in pursuit of money. The TRUTH is money is a physical form of power. It cannot buy every solution, but it can increase the likelihood of happiness in every aspect of your life. Pursuing money is ethical. Go get the life you want.

7 օր առաջ
Antonio Sferruzza
Antonio Sferruzza

But pursuing power is greedy, as well as pursuing money, and damages our society. Power should be obtained as a mean to do what you are good at, it should never be the aim. Money is needed to survive in our society, and should be obtained as a result of a positive contribution to society, and never be the aim as well.

I feel like money can only solve your problems to a certain extent, once you have your money problems met (say, in a middle class household), then becoming more wealthy won't solve your life problems.

7 օր առաջ
Jeff Goss

When I find myself in a discussion on whether money solves problems, it's usually "free money" doesn't fix your problems. The saying, "give a man a fish feed him for a day, teach a man to fish, feed him for life" is the basic idea in these discussions, which are usually revolving around over-easy access to welfare systems, UBI discussions, etc. Yes, money does fix those Money Problems, but it must be earned and be self-sustainable. Putting that burden on society/social help systems seems to enable a lot of people to continue doing just the bare minimum and they will have a hard time "flying from the nest" on their own, if you will. Not everyone, but I've seen a lot of people I know find it really hard to get out of social help systems once they are in them. I was the same poor as you for a few years of my adult life just starting out. I've worked out of it, like yourself, through hard work, dedication, desire to be personally responsible, etc. All that to say, yes I agree there are "problems" that only money can solve, but unless you really appreciate the value of the exact money that is being used to fix your problems, I think that is where maybe the breakdown is in understanding why people say "Money won't fix your problems". Because in the long run, it's your ability to sustain an income and live within your means that will fix your money problems, not "free money handout will fix my problems".
