my only comment was when you put the vanity up to the wall i did not like the cut out for the plumbing on the vanity it looks sloppy should have had a decorative pipe cover the wholes should have been better not just cut a large hole in the back of the vanity

Can't tell you how lucky you are to have the space to work under the floorboards AND space outside for cuts etc. I live in Spain and am working on an entire apartment renovation. EVERYTHING has to be brought up and down (sometimes without the elevator) and work space is restricted to the apartment area. No subfloors etc. I end up doing a lot of work by hand, or negotiating a method to make it work in the confines of what I have to work with. I enjoy your videos but am jealous of all of your tools and space!

Always a pleasure. Great video. I like how you are supplementing the mundane/easy stuff with the Bits videos. Super cool way engage audience as well as generate additional views and page traffic. Your new bathroom looks amazing! Here’s to many more videos and projects. Thank you.

First I wasn‘t sure about the hex and the round tile, but now I really love it and wished I had it at home. ;) You did a really good job there!

What were the dimensions of the room? I have a similar space and wondering if that layout would work.

In my experience grout in the corners can crack over time, I always use silicon for any corner where two tiled walls meet.

Bob, you may have been asked this in previous videos, but I really think that you should make an electric guitar from scratch. Ive found a lot of videos online that go through a FULL build, but I really like your detail and attention to informing the audience and it really inspires me t work in my lowdown workshop and create. Just a thought, but I would love to see it!

25:47 guess Bob did realized that tile is 1/4" thick and with two layer its 1/2". Good on him for showing his mistake but just another reason why it tough to trust people on youtube when it comes to stuff like this
4 օր առաջRay Ramirez
great job. Been there done that, and I love the tile! What we did was put an electrical floor warmer that got embedded into the thinset, just to take the edge off the cold tile. I love the look of what you did!

Hey Bob- When you drilled through your tile for the door hardware, did you have to do anything special to avoid cracking the tile aside from using a ceramic bit? Did you use a fresh bit for each hole? I have had mixed results with that. Also, were you able to return the too-wise door, or did Lowe’s cover that?

I see why people don't like the floor tile. It looks plain dirty because of the different colored and textured pieces. But it probably looks way different in person. It's a good thing the process is the same no matter what color tile You choose for Your bathroom. :)

I just stunned at the way you build houses. I work as a technical drawer and was some time on the construction site. In Swiss we build most things out of concret. The houses are build for 100 jears. This is why we have around half of the elecronic use per Houshold compared to the USA. I dont make things like this by myself, because it would be much harder.

Very good job and beautiful finish. I hate put floor tiles : pain in the back, pain in the knees... Is it regular in US to have metal boxes for switches ? In Europe (or at least in France) we have plastics one. Does it means that you have to plug them to the ground ?

Rule of thumb, don’t do any framing, plumbing, heating, electrical without permits. Permits and inspections are meant to protect the homeowner from disastrous damage or even fatal electrical fires

Fantastic work mate! Only thing I might have mentioned was the requirement for GFCI in a bathroom :)
5 օր առաջKatie Lohrenz
This was so incredibly helpful. I'm remodeling my bathroom and getting ready to put in the same Schluter shower kit and niche, and then I planned to use similar (if not the same) tile, too. The idea to use marble transition strips to trim out the niche is clever. I'd love a clearer image of the finished niche -- looks great from what I can see, but I'd love to see a close-up so I can figure out whether I can recreate it.

Why did ya put the shower door next to the shower head? I would have thought the pannel close to the splash area and door at the back?? Looks awsome love the black hardware.
6 օր առաջMargaret
Question, the thinset, does this help keep the floors warmer, I hate how the tile is so cold in winter, without having to invest in heated floors is this a cheap solution? Obviously I know it won’t make them warm but will it make the tile not cooold?

Texture tip.. mix your drywall mud loose and roll it on with a paint roller. Thicker application results in less bristle detail. Bob, your mud wasn’t on thick enough in your small area and wasn’t mixed loose enough. That’s why your texture didn’t quite look right.

Hey Bob I was wondering why didn’t put in a heated floor pad in your bathroom or mud room?
6 օր առաջHeeD147
Hey Bob the bathroom looks great. I noticed a PVC line in the wall with a cap on the bottom at 2:44 in the video. Was that an old vent line you abandoned? It looked like 1 1/2" and that would make sense for the old shower drain vent line. I hope you disconnected that vent line in the attic too because if that line still vents to the roof rain water can make it's way down into that capped pipe section and the water would have no where to go. The cap would eventually leak and all that water would empty in your wall.
6 օր առաջExtremePower Addicts
